Hi,

there is a skill command for every action in the layout editor. So basically once you know the command you can do anything. There is a Virtuoso Layout Editor Skill Reference Manual that ships with Virtuoso, you may want to check that. Also, every command you perform gets written to a log file (usually CDS.log). You can do a command by mouse and find the corresponding skill command in the log file.

You may want to download the GSPRAM compiler from crete.cadence.com. It is written in skill. That might be a good introduction.

Hi there,

To Johannes @ crete.cadence.com is no longer supported.

To aifi @ There is nothing more I can add apart from what Johannes has said. With Skill you can create your own scripts and applications within the Cadence design environment.

Skill reference manual overwelms the first time user I would say. So I suggest you to read the following skill tutorial first and then attack the manual.

Best Regards,
Kamesh.
